PYRGOS AFC delivered their most complete performance of the season on Saturday night, sweeping aside Ionikos West 3-1 in front of a roaring home crowd at Pyrgos Stadium.
The tone was set inside ten minutes. Giorgos Lianos won possession high up the pitch, fed Petros Nikolaou between the lines, and the number ten slid a perfectly weighted pass for Andreas Vasileiou to open the scoring. The striker doubled the lead before half-time, rising highest to meet Kostas Pelekanos's corner.
Ionikos pulled one back early in the second half against the run of play, but any nerves lasted exactly six minutes. Stefanos Raptis collected the ball on the left wing, cut inside two defenders, and thundered an unstoppable strike into the top corner — a goal worthy of winning any match.
Alexandros Marinakis preserved the scoreline late on with a stunning double save, and the back line of Stavrou and Karras controlled the closing stages with trademark composure.
The win extends the unbeaten run to five matches and sets up a mouth-watering clash with league leaders Olympia United. Under the lights, this team keeps growing.
