Match Preview: PYRGOS AFC vs Olympia United

Pyrgos Stadium hosts its biggest night of the season on Saturday when Olympia United arrive for Matchweek 16 of the Regional League. Kick-off is at 19:30, gates open at 17:30, and a sell-out crowd is expected.

Form favours the hosts. PYRGOS AFC are unbeaten in five, with the 3-1 victory over Ionikos West showcasing the team at its ruthless best. Andreas Vasileiou leads the scoring charts with twelve goals, while the creative partnership between Petros Nikolaou and Stefanos Raptis has terrorised defences all season.

Olympia United, however, arrive as league leaders and the measuring stick for every ambitious side in the division. Their experienced back line has conceded just nine goals all season, and their counter-attack is among the most dangerous in the league.

"These are the nights you dream about," said head coach Leonidas Papas in Friday's press conference. "A full stadium, a top opponent, and a chance to show how far we have come. We respect Olympia — and we fear nobody at home."

Team news: the squad has a clean bill of health, with young forward Leandros Vitalis pushing for his first start. Supporters are encouraged to arrive early and be loud — the twelfth player has won points on their own this season.
