The future of PYRGOS AFC will be built at home. The club today announced a major expansion of its academy programme, adding three new age groups and launching a dedicated education pathway for every registered academy player.
From next season, the academy will run squads from under-10 through under-19, with open trials scheduled throughout July at the Pyrgos Training Centre. Technical director Victor Morales, who oversees the youth pathway, called it the most important investment the club will ever make.
"Transfer markets change. Results change. But a club that develops its own players never loses its soul," Morales said. "Our first academy graduate, Michalis Drakos, is already training with the first team every day. Leandros Vitalis is the most exciting teenager in the region. This is only the beginning."
The education programme pairs every academy player with a study mentor, ensuring school performance is treated with the same seriousness as on-pitch development. Parents will receive structured progress reports each term.
Open trial registration is now available for players aged 12 to 16. The club encourages every young footballer in the region to take their chance — the next badge-carrier could be anywhere.
